Ethiopia’s Consul General to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China Pays a courtesy Visit to the Secretary-General of The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), Mr. Endalikachew Semie, on December 26, 2017.
Mr. Teferi Melesse made the visit to ECCSA before his departure to discuss on mutual activities ECCSA and MoFA plan to undertake. The Secretary-General expressed his hopes that the two sides should work together in facilitating the provision of up-to-date information in the promotion of trade and investment activities made, adding exchange of information should be as timely as possible.
Endalkachew also urged the Consul General to make his effort to communicate with Chinese investors, who would be interested to cooperate in the Chamber Hub development project in Addis Ababa, the biggest ever project proposed by the Chamber. There is also a need to promote the Ethio-Chamber International Trade Fairs that is conducted annually and the various publications of ECCSA so that Chinese investors and companies could be addressed, the Secretary-General added.
Recalling that Ethiopia was designated to host the 12th World Chamber Congress (WCC) in 2021, Endalkachew also requested for cooperation in disseminating information.
Mr. Teferi Melesse on his part, said that his Office will work to strengthen the trade and investment relations between the two countries and their Chamber’s. He also promised to work in identifying Chines companies that would be interested to work in joint venture with their Ethiopian counterparts.
Finally, the two sides agreed to closely work on strengthening communication between the two sides.
